10 things. 6/27

June 26, 2025

10 things. 627 her healthy style
  1. July 4th is right around the corner. Here are some picks I’m packing for the weekend, but we sure to check out the blog for plenty more ideas!
    • a store-bought clean packaged guacamole or avocado mash with veggies – homemade recipe
    • Zucchini Hummus – a really good hummus with zero chickpeas. As long as you like tahini and cumin, you’ll enjoy this one. Just note that zucchini is a watery vegetable so you can’t cut down on the tahini in this recipe. You also can’t just add a zucchini to any hummus recipe or it will be more tasteless. Ha. There is method to this one.
    • raspberry chia pudding breakfast or snack jars – so easy to make in advance: in a 16oz mason jar or similar – 1 cup of almond milk (homemade really does taste best in this, but whatever you have is great), 3-4 TBSP chia seeds, 1/4 tsp ceylon cinnamon – stir this really well or shake the jar and stir it. I do it a few times before putting it in the fridge overnight so that the chia seeds don’t stay in a clump at the bottom. Let it sit on the counter so it thickens a bit before stirring again. Once it’s thicker, add some frozen raspberries on top. They’ll unthaw by morning. You could of course use fresh too. Sweeten if desired.
    • An herb tahini dressing to pour on to a salad or maybe even grilled veggies. I just made this and ended up tweaking my own recipe. It’s not a sweet recipe at all, so add a dash of maple or a Medjool date if you want it sweetened. This is what I used:
      • 1/2 cup water
      • 1/2 lemon, more to taste
      • 1 large garlic clove
      • 1 cup fairly packed cilantro
      • 30 mint leaves, maybe start with 20 and taste
      • 1/4 tsp sea salt
      • 1/2 cup tahini
    • grilled veggies and your favorite dressing or hummus to go with it
    • Siete chips and a clean jar of salsa or homemade Pico de Gallo
    • easy mojito mocktail
  2. Summer is the time we are generally harder on our feet and walking barefoot. I’ve been applying castor oil to my feet and putting socks on for a couple of hours during the day or overnight if I can tolerate the socks. It’s really been helping my heels. Castor oil is a wonder anti-microbial oil that I use often. I even apply it as a mask to my face; sometimes I’ll mix it with honey. My picks: A dropper bottle or a large jar.
  3. This visor comes in all different colors, looks nice, and does a great job covering the face and chest.
  4. I recently shared these, but I wanted to update you that I’ve been wearing the jellies on my walks everyday in this heat and they have proven to be comfortable overall! I didn’t think they would be. They rubbed my heels a bit the first two times, but then they were good to go. I linked the version I have, but they have mules without backs too. I’m a size 8 and took a size 8. Some sizes are sold out in certain colors. If you order the jelly flip flops, I heard they run a size small, so maybe size up in those? Sizes can be such a pain. Ha. They seem to match with so much! Highly recommend them if you loved the jelly shoes as a kid. I had a clear pair with silver sparkles. 🙂
  5. Do you want an easy frozen sweet treat? Freeze some grapes to have a frozen sweet snack at the ready.
  6. This carrot zucchini quinoa breakfast bowl recipe was inspired after I made the zucchini oatmeal.
  7. Last week’s daily green smoothie recipe. Right now I’m playing around with green smoothies with zero fruit. I’ll share when I land on one I repeat.
  8. Don’t worry about how you are going to eat forever. I mean like all of the details. Just focus on today and each day at hand as it passes. Do what you feel is best for your body right now. It’s too much pressure to think about forever. Plus, no matter how much you think you’ll do something the exact same way forever, we rarely do. We are ever evolving beings. Our bodies change, imbalances come and go, we unlearn, we relearn, we learn our own body better, etc. Just do the best you feel is right for you right now in your body.
  9. Use the good stuff right now too. You know how we sometimes save “the good stuff” for a rainy day. Maybe it’s our nicer clothing, handbags, china, linens, the pricey skincare, … whatever it is that comes to mind that you are saving and not using often enough. Let’s use it. Day to day life is meant to be fully enjoyed.
  10. Living Libations is having their 25% off sitewide sale through this Sunday June 29th. If you want the cleanest of clean products, check them out, especially their Best Skin Ever.
