- On a week Instagram break. My account has had problems since around May or June of last year and it’s yet to resolve. I have grown less than 50 people in over a year and prior to that I was on a steady slow increase of around 1000+ a year. This is not much for an active social business account, but I was good with that. I get told in many sales emails that 1. my account is going to be deleted all together or 2. my account will stay stagnant forever if I don’t change whatever it is they want me to pay them to change. They all sound so gimmicky that I never want to pay them and I 100% am not giving them any login info. I paid for Meta recently, since I thought paying Instagram might help. While I think it’s a racket, it was worth a shot. No go. I even started liking and saving my own posts since apparently that is suppose to help show your account more. Craziness. Ha. I always saw other accounts do it and thought it was odd, but apparently it makes a difference? Maybe it will once my account is out of whatever; if it ever gets out of whatever it’s in. One thing I do know is that I had two posts get flagged – one juice post last year and one more personal post this year. I couldn’t understand the flag on either one. If anything was going to get flagged, I would think it would be the non-mainstream controversial health tidbits, but neither had any health info in them. I also missed taking the first one down in the time frame allowed; I didn’t even know it was flagged until months passed. I’m not sure if that affects my account forever? I’ve taken few day breaks from posting on my grid before, but never the grid and stories. So here I am, taking a week off from posting all together to see if it helps gets my account showing to people again. It was the #1 recommendation. I’m also going to look up a hashtag generator app and see if I have any banned hashtags and delete those posts this weekend. It’s all craziness to me. Taking a break feels really nice though; I may get used to it! Ha I’m still actively posting on YouTube and sharing posts to the blog. Sorry for the book, but for those that wonder why I’m not sharing on Instagram right now, this is why.
- I shared a recent 10 minute grocery haul video on YouTube.
- The Spotify station I’m playing on repeat most often right now is Chris Malinchak Radio. It’s upbeat electronic music. It feels summery and lively, especially when the temperature allows me to have the balcony doors open. When I want something more subtle I still turn on YouTube and put on an ocean ambiance scene that plays soft Jazz in the background. Sometimes I’ll pick one with the sound of waves too. It’s just good background ambiance and adds a lot to a space. I highly recommend it. Just go to YouTube on your TV and search Ocean Ambiance or whatever scene you want.
- New blog recipe – Zucchini Oatmeal. My brother told me that I lost my taste buds when he heard me talk about this one, but he quickly said right after, that I’ve never given him one bad thing to eat. Ha. If you eat oatmeal often and want to sneak in a vegetable while making it much more filling, try it out. I have tips to help you transition, so you don’t go right to eating oatmeal with green in it.
- I try not to share my timeframe I eat in a day that much, since I don’t want anyone to think that’s what they need to do. Plus it changes depending on the day, my time of the month, how light or heavy of a meal I ate the night before, etc.. Our bodies are all different, as is our workout schedule, our sleeping schedule, the time of the month we are in as women, …all of it plays a role. For years I didn’t start eating until 10am solely because that’s what felt natural to me. My work day was 10-8. I ate dinner extremely late many days – like 8:30pm when I got home. Having my breakfast smoothie between 10-11 felt natural to me. Over the years I’ve pushed my dinner earlier now that I’m home. Dinner is around 5:30-6:00pm many days. Because of this, I tried to eat breakfast earlier for awhile since I felt like it’s what I should be doing. For all of the supposed benefits. “Eat breakfast 30 minutes within waking” rings in the health space often. I tried, but each morning felt forced and I lost my flow. It hit me when I was at our cottage for a week; I would naturally want to eat earlier. My days looked and felt different there. I would get back home and then want to eat later again. I decided to stop forcing anything and stay with the flow of what feels good to me on each given day. It truly varies! Some days I’m hungry and having some fruit before my juice which is generally around 9:30am. Sometimes adding honey in my tea right away feels good. I listen to my body’s needs each day and stay in a flow. I don’t force anything and just start eating when I’m hungry. When you are getting health info from every which way (here included), remember, there is no one way. Find your own flow that works for you and mute the “noise.” Try different things out if you want to know if something will feel better to you. It’s how we learn. Our bodies are intelligent and help guide us if we listen to them.
- If you feel like you are doing everything – eating in a healthy way you truly believe in, moving/exercising (if you’re able to) in a way that feels good to you and you still feel unwell, try turning to meditation. The gut brain connection is real. If your mind isn’t in a good space, nor will your body be regardless of what you are doing. I’ve gotten out of a daily morning guided meditation, but I still do them at least a few days a week. I just feel more at peace on the mornings I do listen to one. I highly recommend this 15 minute guided one.

- Hot weather is here. Some body SPF I buy – Badger Daily 30 Mineral SPF, Babo Sheer Zinc Mineral Spray SPF 30, I was gifted this FRE’ SPF 50 Zinc Mineral Gel Cream, so I’ll be using that too. They gave us a 25% off discount code – RIANESCH
- If you’ve been eyeing any skincare from True Botanicals by chance, they have a sitewide 20% off + sale with free shipping on all US orders. Their Chebula serum is my top pick.
- Needing everything instantly. I’ve always thought of myself of someone who has plenty of patience and self-control – the word choice varying depending on what it is. I still think this, but in a world that we can get so much at the click of a button, it’s easy to want instant, to want faster. I feel like I’m now thinking of and tying in different topics, but I’m doing it anyway. There is value in waiting, value in pausing to really think whatever through, value in slowness, value in not getting everything we think we want, and value in not clicking that button when we are not sure.
