Normally protein powders are not my thing, but I love the taste of Wilderness Poet’s Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder. It has such a good nutty taste! So if you like that, you’ll love this one. It’s also one ingredient. Organic, Cold-Pressed Styrian Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder. No fillers, gums, natural flavors, or any other ingredient that isn’t wanted.
Why I try to avoid “natural flavors” in ingredients on the norm: I’ve learned that MSG and other chemicals are often hiding behind it.

Back to the shake. 🙂
This pumpkin seed protein shake makes a quick afternoon snack. I like the taste of it without any banana (the nuttiness is more forward), but when I want a creamier consistency or a more filling snack, I’ll add in banana. When I need to turn it into a meal for my husband for work, I add in 2-3 frozen bananas, a handful of spinach if I have it on hand, and an extra cup of water to blend.
Pumpkin Seed Protein Shake
Serves 1
Ingredients
- 1-2 1/2 cups cold water, 1 without any banana, 1 1/2 cups if using a fresh banana and chia seeds, 2 1/2 if using 2-3 frozen bananas and chia seeds
- 2 TBSP Wilderness Poet’s pumpkin seed protein powder*
- 1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon
- 1-2 dates
- 1 TBSP chia seeds
- optional, 1 tsp Wilderness Poets lions mane powder – a brain boosting add in
- optional, banana(s) – fresh or frozen, but I prefer frozen in this one
- optional, handful of spinach when using bananas as well

Method
Add everything to your blender and blend. Pour it in a glass and let it sit for about 15 minutes until the chia seeds expand some. I personally blend everything but the chia seeds and then stir them into my glass or shake it all in a jar. Adding it all to the blender might be easier though. Enjoy!
