Wilderness Poets is a small, family run business specializing in nut butters and superfood powders in Ashland, Oregon. They carefully source all of their ingredients and personally get to know their farmers and suppliers.

I first discovered Wilderness Poets when I was looking for a high quality dragon fruit powder to buy in bulk. Fast forward some time, and now I not only enjoy Wilderness Poets dragon fruit powder, but many of their amazing products. I figured I would compile it all here and share it with you!

Wilderness Poets Superfood Powders + More
Dragon Fruit Powder
This is the powder that introduced me to Wilderness Poets. It is one of the main ingredients in Medical Medium’s Liver Rescue Smoothie. It’s a liver rejuvenator, an antioxidant power horse, and it gives smoothies that pretty magenta color you might see. I order the big 2lb value bag to save some $.
The red pigment in the red-fleshed variety of pitaya is a rejuvenator for your liver, bringing cells back to life. It helps your liver produce cells faster so regeneration of the liver can occur. It’s a fountain of youth fruit for the liver that slows down and stops liver aging by caring for its deep, inner core, which in most cases succumbs to disease if left neglected for too long.
MEDICAL MEDIUM
Turmeric Powder
I use turmeric because of it’s immune boosting, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancerous properties. It’s also good for aches and pains. I’ll add it to smoothies, make tea with it (especially during my cycle), make a golden turmeric ginger latte in the winter, really wherever I can get it in I will. I know the bitter earthy taste is off-putting to some, but I really enjoy it. My advice is to just start with smaller amounts until you don’t mind or actually like the taste.
Lion’s Mane Mushroom Powder
This is a brain boosting mushroom powder that helps strengthen the immune system in addition to its anti-cancerous properties. It has also been linked to helping with depression and anxiety as well. I personally take this one because of the brain and nerve protecting properties. I’m all for anything that helps me think a bit clearer. I was previously buying another brand, but Wilderness Poets just started offering this, so I ordered one. It’s a good price too!
Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder
It contains one ingredient – cold press organic pumpkin seed powder. Although I’m not a big protein powder girl, I’m a fan of this one! I also love that it is made from pumpkin seeds (extra zinc)! It tastes so delicious when I blend it with cinnamon and a medjool date. It also makes an easy fast snack to pack for my husband for work some days.
If you would rather have Hemp Protein Powder, Wilderness Poets also sells a great pure one.
I do not want to confuse anyone as I have never been concerned about getting enough protein in my diet, so I want to mention the following:
There is so much emphasis on protein in this world. If you are not eating meat, you are not getting enough protein, you can’t build muscle, you lack nutrition & the list goes on. Watch The Game Changers movie if you need help learning that all of this is so untrue. The film takes a look at athletes going from a meat eating diet to a vegan diet and shows how it changed them for the better.
To clarify, I’m not vegan, but I rarely eat meat (I’ve eaten meat twice this year so far). I never eat it because I think I’m lacking protein or nutrition either. Whether we are omnivore, plant-based, vegan, or other, studies have shown that the majority of us, regardless of diet are getting way more protein than our bodies even need.
The fact that the broccoli on your plate has twice as much protein per calorie as the steak it’s next to (11.2g vs 5.4g per 100 calories) is not widely known, leaving the average person doubtful that a plant-based diet could ever fill that imagined steak-shaped void in their protein requirements.
Animals have to take in amino acids (the building blocks of protein) from plants in order to make that muscle tissue. Yes, animals can convert some aminos into others as needed, but they can’t make any of the essential or conditionally essential amino acids from scratch – only plants can do that.

Roasted Maple Cashew Butter
I don’t eat a lot of nut butter, but if you are in the market for one, they have the best tasting butters! This one is made with organic roasted cashews, organic maple crystals, and pink Himalayan salt. I happen to have Lundberg organic rice cakes in my house at the moment, and they pair pretty great together. Otherwise, its a good dip with apple slices (for kids or adults). It is a bit of a sweeter butter because of the maple crystals in it.
Maple Crystals
I guess I can say I have had them in the maple cashew butter, but I have not actually opened my packed to use them! I bought it to make homemade chocolate bars for Valentine’s Day and never did. However if you are looking for another unrefined sugar option, check these out. Add it to baked goods, drinks, or anywhere you would add a little sugar. I’ll be using mine eventually.
Cacao Paste
One ingredient organic raw cacao paste. It’s meant for melting and making your own chocolate bars, truffles, and other treats. I love pure unsweetened cacao however, so my previous bag didn’t make it into my planned DIY chocolate bars. It was a bit hard on my teeth eating it as is, but I still enjoyed it. If you eat chocolate on occasion, check out all of their cacao offerings.
Blue Butterfly Flower Powder, Coconut Water Powder, Elderberry Powder, + Camu Camu Powder
I have all of these powders as well, but use them less. I still want to mention them incase it is something you are interested in!
Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Powder – It’s a natural blue pigment for turning whatever you want blue! Blue frosting, blue drinks, blue smoothies, blue cakes, blue popsicles, and anything else your heart desires. It might be a fun one for kids! I know I would like a fun blue drink, I just never think to use it!
Coconut Water Powder – If you camp or hike a lot, this might be one you want to check out. I still prefer drinking bottled coconut water, but this is great in a pinch for upping our electrolytes.
Elderberry Powder – I don’t love the taste of it by itself, but if you are into making elderberry syrup, popsicles, or throat drops, check this one out. I just add mine to smoothies here and there.
Camu Camu Powder – Very high in Vitamin C. I wanted to make some lozenges with a recipe Wilderness Poets had on their site, but I never did. I just ended up adding it to my smoothies.
