Candida Fighting Supplements + Tips

November 15, 2025

Candida Fighting Supplements + Tips

I’ve compiled a list of candida fighting supplements + tips that I’m doing to get my low level Candida overgrowth back in check. If I was dealing with a high level of overgrowth as I had years ago, I would also take these same supplements. With this said, even though I spend countless hours researching and reading to figure out what supplements I want to take, don’t take my word for it. The more informed we are about the choices we make for ourselves, the better we’ll be able to understand what and why we are taking something. We can also better adjust and tweak anything along the way as needed for our own body and state of health. Our bodies are each unique and our gut microbiome is not identical.

I have the supplements on my counter and I’m careful to spread them out throughout the day. If you have higher overgrowth, spreading them can make any die-off symptoms stay tolerable as well. It’s common to be tired and lower energy initially, but if you are following a disciplined diet alongside supplements, you’ll hopefully get your energy back quickly. So really read the labels, the about’s, and reviews of each one for yourself. I’ll share more about Candida and what specific foods I’m focusing on and avoiding with an overgrowth in an upcoming post. Remember as always, I share what I do, but always do you. If something I do isn’t working for you, don’t do it. Listen to your body and tweak as you go just as I do. Writing a journal of what you eat each day is really helpful. You can see how you feel a few hours after or possibly the day after and record any info. Eventually you might start to see a pattern of things.

Candida Fighting Supplements + Tips

Some of these directly fight the candida and others improve the body’s immune system which is equally important during this time as they are interrelated. Our immune system is not operating at prime levels when candida overgrows, so the more we can support our immune system, the faster we will heal.

  • Probiotics. I rotate brands:
    • Zuma Multi-Strain Probiotic Complex
    • Latero-Flora Candida and Yeast Probiotic or Organic Oliva Flora-V
    • Candida Balance – Yeast and Fungal Cleanse– contains Pau D’arco & Licorice – both amazing for Candida
  • Gut healing protocols: Complete Candida & Gut Reset Protocol (I’m currently doing this one and will eventually follow up with this one GI Health and Gut Lining Support Prot
  • Butyrate – a gut healing supplement
  • Monolaurin – amazing for gut and immune system – start small and work up. I take this 3 times a day right now.
  • Vitamin D – I changed to this one from my previous I shared since I wanted a much higher IU after this bout of overgrowth. I can tell the difference and plan to stick with this one.
  • I take this Zinc in the morning in my supplement case and this liquid in the evening for a second dose of zinc right now.
  • B+ Vitamins – for energy and immunity
  • L-Glutamine Powder – to restore/improve gut lining
  • Oxy-Powder Colon Cleanse – I take at night before bed sometimes, but take Magnesium Glycinate on the norm.
  • Milk-Thistle – to help with the liver during this time – I take one dropperful at night before bed.
  • Propolis – antifungal and immune boosting – It’s helpful for fighting Candida and disrupting and inhibiting it’s biofilms. If it’s your first time ordering from VIMERGY all together, use this link for 20% off your entire first purchase
  • Chaga added to a hot tea of choice (chamomile & ginger are two great for Candida) with Ceylon cinnamon – Chaga is an apoptogenic that is incredible for strengthening the immune system which is weakened with yeast overgrowth. It also supports overall wellness and oxidative stress, various gut symptoms, and the liver. Expensive up front, but a little goes a long way and I notice a difference when I take it. This one specifically dissolves in water and isn’t gritty like some of the previous ones I’ve tried.
  • Cats Claw – Cats claw, raw garlic, aloe, and goldenseal are like nature’s antibiotics.
  • Goldenseal – another potent antifungal herb and potent tincture that I rotate in sometimes
  • Ashwaganda – for balanced energy and resistant to stress
  • oil of oregano – Another great one I rotate in. Candida overgrowth grows resistant to antifungals, so I find it helpful to do 2-3 weeks on something and then go off of it for a bit before bringing it back in again. Always do your own research though.
  • I am going to include these energy boosters I take sometimes too. – Celeryforce: It gives me a boost in clarity and extra energy; it’s my “coffee” when I need it. code RIANES5 for a little off and Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Greens Powder that I add to water mid-day. It has a mild sweet taste which is nice too.
  • Some candida fighting food sources, but I’ll elaborate much more in the next post:
    • raw minced garlic cloves
    • small spoon of raw coconut oil – the lauric acid is antifungal and antimicrobial
    • green juices, microgreens, and lots of leafy greens like spinach
    • cruciferous veggies – broccoli, brussels, cauliflower, cabbage, all help inhibit Candida
    • raw ginger – I add this anti-fungal root to green juices or make ginger lemon shots
    • fresh lemon or lime juice – add to green juices, lemon water, salads, morning papaya breakfast
    • Ceylon cinnamon – I add this anti-fungal spice to anything. Clove powder is in the mix too.
    • cayenne pepper – sprinkle on salads or in green juices – avoid if don’t do well with cayenne though
    • turmeric – you can also take in supplement form. I’m currently taking Kinder Thoughts which contains saffron and turmeric – an amazing mix with MCT oil – all great for the gut and skin.
    • papaya seeds – I eat papaya for breakfast often right now. It’s an amazing anti-fungal fruit for Candida and the spicy, but edible seeds are especially beneficial. I swallow or chew some (there are arguments for both sides – so I do both) with a spoonful spread out on my papaya each morning. Start with a very small amount though as a spoonful might give you a terrible die-off feeling depending on your overgrowth level.
    • pumpkin seeds – I have pumpkin seed protein powder in this chia pudding for breakfast too
    • seaweed like nori wraps, dulse flakes, kelp noodles
    • homemade veggie broths with herbs like thyme and oregano added in
