This Sleepy Time Cherry Magnesium Mocktail is a great one to promote a better night’s sleep. Pure tart cherry juice (no sugar added) helps with sleep and stress. Cherries are not only rich in melatonin, they also help our bodies produce melatonin. Magnesium improves sleep, calms the body & the adrenals, and acts as a gentle cleanser. Sparkling water is generally just an add in to make a mocktail more enjoyable and give it fizz, but Gerolsteiner sparkling natural mineral water is higher in minerals including magnesium. It does have a high mineral taste, but it pairs well with the cherry juice. I also like adding a squeeze of lemon or lime to the drink as well.
You can either swallow your preferred magnesium capsules along with the drink, or open them up and stir them in. I rotate what type of magnesium I’m taking.

Ingredients
- Your choice of pure tart cherry juice – no sugar added. Lakewood is a great brand. Juice pictured is from a local cherry orchard in Door County.
- Gerolsteiner Sparkling Natural Mineral Water – I’m linking it so you see what it looks like, but it’s around $3 a bottle at the store – it’s sold all over
- 1 serving of your choice of magnesium – open up capsules and stir them in or just swallow with drink
- Small squeeze of lemon or lime
Method
- Optional – Fill a regular 8-10 ounce glass with ice.
- Fill glass about halfway with cherry juice.
- Top off with mineral water.
- Optional – Stir in the opened up magnesium capsules if adding this way or just swallow with the mocktail.
- Squeeze in a small wedge of lemon or lime. Enjoy 1-2 hours before bed.
