This energizing lunch smoothie is what I’ve been having for lunch this week. It reminds me of an adult version of a healthy berry milkshake. It’s sweet, delicious, and gives me an energizing boost.
I strongly recommend frozen bananas over regular bananas in this recipe. Frozen bananas make it taste much better, sweeter, and creamier. When it’s thicker it also feels more substantial of a meal too.
This is one that almost every ingredient plays a part in keeping me energized and full. If you don’t have vanilla powder, you could skip that, but it does add a nice flavor. As for cinnamon, it helps regulate blood sugar amongst a bajillion other benefits. I like to sprinkle in ceylon cinnamon wherever I can.
Energizing Lunch Smoothie
1 serving
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut water, the addition of coconut water keeps me more satiated than water alone & it tastes better – just be sure your coconut water has one ingredient – coconut water (I use Aldi’s lately)
- 1 cup water, you could also do 2 cups of coconut water – I just go through it so fast
- 2 larger frozen bananas, I slice them to make it easier on the blender
- 1/2 heaping cup frozen sweet cherries, you could also use wild blueberries
- 2 medjool dates, pitted – ENERGY
- 2 TBSP flaxseeds or hemp seeds, I’ve been doing flaxseed this week (good Omega’s, fiber, & hormone health)
- 1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon
- pinch of vanilla powder
Method
Add everything to a high speed blender and blend until smooth. ENJOY!
