The addicting aroma, that feeling you get, a habit you can’t quit, an afternoon pick-me-up, the memories it’s tied to. Can you relate to any this when thinking about your coffee? For me, it’s that addicting aroma hands down. Gosh it smells so good!!! Who am I kidding, I love the taste and feeling it brings too. Well, a really good coffee anyway. So why am I sharing the best tasting coffee alternative? Because unless you are living under a rock, you know coffee has negative effects on the body and you might just be that one person who would love to kick the fix!
3/21/23 – I have since changed what I’m drinking for a coffee alternative – Read it here. 🙂
I’ve got all the fixings of a coffee addict
If you came to my house, you would find a coffee maker and Nespresso machine on the counter. You would also find a Chemex and a French Press in the cupboard. What can I say, we love good coffee. We use it all, but since discovering Dandy Blend it’s so much less. Dandy Blend tastes shockingly similar to coffee. Not only that, it has a good flavor. Enter the real test, my husband. He loves his coffee and was previously still drinking it all the time, so I was really hoping he would like it. He does! It’s become his daily “coffee” most days.
Dandy Blend: The Best Tasting Coffee Alternative
Dandy Blend is the best tasting coffee alternative that’s healthy. The mix of dandelion with the chicory gives it the depth it needs to resemble coffee. It’s slightly sweeter than coffee, but don’t let that deter you from trying it. You just need to play around with the right amount of Dandy Blend to water. I prefer an espresso strength, so I add 1 tablespoon to a smaller cup of hot water from my teapot. You can also add it to cold water as well! Just stir and it mixes right in. I would order a small bag to see how you and your body like it before you order the larger sized bags.
This is what Dandy Blend says about their product:
- Rich, smooth full-bodied coffee flavor, but no caffeine, acidity or bitterness.
- No additives or preservatives. Nothing artificial.
- Total water-soluable extracts of three roasted roots and two roasted grains. Nothing else.
- No gluten. All gluten from barley and rye is eliminated in the extracting process.
- Sweetness comes from fructose that occurs naturally in roasted dandelion and chicory roots.
- No pesticides.
- 630 mg dandelion/chicory extract per cup
- Going from coffee to Dandy Blend is easy – there are no withdrawal symptoms.
- May be suitable for people with diabetes. Ask your doctor.
Be kind to yourself if you are trying to quit or cut down on your coffee intake.
I think it’s easier to quit coffee when you are going through something health-wise than just quitting it because you know it’s better for you. So kudos to you if you feel great and are still trying to quit or cut down on coffee. During the time I was dealing with health issues, I cut out coffee (including decaf- as it’s still not great for you) for the majority of two years. It wasn’t hard. That was the least of my problems. lol Now I drink small amounts of coffee in spurts. More if I am on vacation and some weeks I don’t drink any. I just really enjoy it for a treat once in awhile. I feel extra naughty and like I’m breaking all my “rules” when I have a cup – especially when it’s caffeinated. 🤣 So I am not here to judge since I have not quit it entirely, but to share.
Caffeine has been around since ancient times, through a variety of plant sources, but there’s a bigger story to how it’s used now. The addiction that we have with caffeine is not just ceremonial anymore, like it was for hundreds of years, all around the world. Nowadays, we use it as a crutch to get by, because people don’t feel well, and are struggling from focus and concentration issues, brain fog, fatigue, energy issues, forgetfulness, grogginess, and physical discomfort. We use it now to mask our everyday symptoms. Sure, people who feel good still consume caffeine, but more people who don’t feel good, are consuming it to survive and get through their day.
MEDICAL MEDIUM
If you don’t need the coffee taste each morning, you may be interested in Chaga & Honey or Reishi for a hot morning or afternoon beverage. I’ll save a post about them for another day. 😊
