October Mood: Home and Style
How is it October?! I feel like two weeks ago it felt like Fall and I was ready for it, but now with these warmer temps surfacing for a bit, I’m embracing that now too! I’m a girl that loves all seasons, and takes the days and weather as they come. There is something beautiful about it all, even the gray skies. Am I crazy? Maybe a little. But, the weather changes bring a new mood each time. It all depends on how you look it at. I choose to look at the colder, more gray months as a time of cozy nesting.
With that said, it’s also a time I continually move around things here and there to spruce up my home. Even the smallest touches make such a difference. I fall in love with my home over and over, and it continues to be a space I love to be in. I invite you to do the same. Move around things, look at things differently. You will untap your home’s beautiful potential as well as make it a space you want to be in.
Below are some Fall-like living rooms along with inspiration to incorporate the décor elements into your own home.
I love the undone “messiness” of the photo above. It looks like an October day well spent on the couch rummaging through books and magazines. That mixed with the perfect cup of tea, coffee, or an elixir is a match made in heaven for me. Too undone for you, but drawn to some of the elements? I picked out these items on Amazon that are inspired from this room. I have the Live Beautiful book myself.
The above picture drew me because of the warm glow from candlelight and the earthy, muted tones. The color palette is very calming. It looks like the perfect room to cuddle up in and watch a movie. Notice how there are small pumpkins in the wooden bread dough bowl that give it a seasonal feel without going overboard. Such an easy way to decorate for the season. Grab a bunch of small pumpkins and put them in a wood bowl on your coffee table, dining table, or island.
Put a mum on your coffee table and you’ll instantly have the Fall touch in your home. They can stay good for a few weeks in the house, which is longer than a bouquet of flowers. A good bang for your buck. The hint of plaids, chocolate brown, wicker and stacked picnic baskets peaking out all add some Fall warmth to the traditional sunlit room.
Which room would you pick?? Comment Below! I pick #1. Those crazy branches and stacks of coffee table books just get me.
Grateful you are following along! xx, Riane
