The best natural and organic body washes are those that don’t contain hidden chemicals or hormone disrupting artificial fragrances. A body wash is an easy place to start when switching to a cleaner, less toxic lifestyle. Our skin is our largest organ and absorbs what we put on it. Since body wash is something most of us use often, let’s show it some love. Below is my roundup of body washes you can feel good about using.

The Best Natural And Organic Body Washes:
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Liquid Soap is at the top of my list since it’s what I use for body wash the majority of time. It comes in many different scents, but the best sellers and ones I use the most are the lavender and peppermint. Peppermint is great for the refreshing, invigorating, pick-me-up scent. Lavender is my favorite for my night-time baths. My husband likes the tea tree one a lot, and almond gets thrown in the mix too. Whatever scent preference you have, there is one for you. It is a very liquid-like consistency, and a few drops goes a long way. My skin likes it and I feel clean after using it. It’s made with pure, organic, fair trade ingredients. Dr. Bronner’s also happens to be the #1 natural selling soap in the US.
The bar soap produces a more moisturizing lather than the liquid soap does. I like the bars for hand soap too.
The set below is great if you are new to Dr. Bronner’s and you are not sure which scent you’ll like. The 2oz bottles are great for travel.
Even though it’s another Dr. Bronner’s soap, I want to mention it separately so it doesn’t get missed for those that don’t want any scent. That’s me somedays too. It’s also more gentle on the skin. Look into this one if you have sensitive skin or are looking for a body wash for kids or dogs. The baby unscented bar soap is great as well.
If you are looking for a more moisturizing body wash, I recommend this one. It’s a gentle cleanser that soothes and softens the skin. It’s a great one for eczema and problematic skin. I might be grabbing this one in the dead of winter when my skin needs more moisture. It comes in more scents as well.
I love a good bar of soap. This beautiful bar of soap draws out toxins and impurities from the body with it’s French green clay. If you are dealing with bacterial issues, take a good look at this one. It’s great for the privates.
“The clay is swirled into soap with Cacao Butter, Golden Jojoba, and Virgin Coconut oil to drench the skin in marvelous amounts of moisture. Saponified Olive oil works with the clay to cleanse the skin and purify pores. Yarrow and Rosemary clarify and rejuvenate the skin. Eucalyptus, Cypress, and Laurel fortify skin and aromatically motivate in the morning.” Living Libations
