I always like opening fun list type posts in my emails, so I wanted to start sharing something similar more often. Here are this week’s 10 things.
- The Dip Radio – Pandora Station
My girlfriend shared this with me last week and it’s a great station to put on when you are trying to get things done around the house – cleaning, cooking, etc. It could be fun for an upbeat dinner party as well. It’s a feel-good uplifting soulful mix. I’ve had it on a lot this week.
I had been switching between the same two pairs of sweatpants at home for 3/4 years. It was time to toss the really rough looking pair and get a new comfy set. I was going to get these sweatpants, but decided to get the lighter jogger set for now. It’s a great in-between weather set. It’s light, but warm and has the most incredible soft material. It’s the softest clothing I own. The joggers are high wasted and really enhance the butt. I want to let you know, just incase that’s not your thing. I find them super flattering and love them with the cropped hoodie. They have some other cute tops that match the joggers too that are not cropped. It might not even be that cropped depending on your body either (I have a long torso). If you are in need of a comfortable set, I highly recommend it. I can’t speak for longevity since it’s new, but it’s reviewed well.
I wear tennis shoes often walking around the city and these looked so cute for summer. They are really comfortable for my narrow foot too. I’m a true size 8 and got a 7.5 in these. I have the pink and orange.
I just got this BB cream to wear when I want a more makeup look and really like it. It’s by far the most coverage I’ve had from a BB cream; I think it’s more similar to a foundation. The only thing is I bought it super quickly and didn’t look at the colors close enough. Isn’t that the case. Ha The story of all of us buying makeup on the internet… Colors are such a pain. If we only lived right next to each other so we could try out and swap colors. I bought the color 20, but it’s a tad too dark. The 10 would be better for my skin-tone, even in summer. Of course, I’m saying this without having tried it, but I could always darken it up the 10 with some bronzer. Since the 20 is a bit too dark, I just mix it with a lighter formula that I have on hand from another brand. It’s what I do to not waste makeup. Mix stuff together. I also bought Pure’s Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Plume Pink to get to free shipping. It’s a really pretty color and lasts a long time without drying my lips. Since I usually just like a little color on the norm, I apply it super lightly. I also apply it to my cheeks for blush sometimes.
Now that it’s getting nicer out, I’m getting asked about nail polish brands a tad more. The green line of the Manicurist Paris brand is what I recommend now. I don’t go through polish enough so I’m trying to use up what I have first, but if I was making a polish purchase now, it would be from them. They have an amazing selection of colors and options. If you like well kept, more neutral nails, they have kits for that as well. Prices are average for clean nail polish, but the $8 shipping charge is a bit of bummer for nail polish. I’ve noticed they sometimes have free shipping at a higher $ amount, but it’s rare. It’s still way less costly than paying for a manicure and pedicure though.
Mark uses the crystal deodorant, because that’s what I buy him. Ha. It works for him overall, it doesn’t stain his white dress shirts, it’s cheap, and lasts forever. I usually have a nicer deodorant in the cabinet for him when we wants it- nights out, etc., but I have not ordered any in awhile. He’s let me know. He told me he wants the nice black deodorant on my website… in his own funny words. The Rose deodorant by Agent Nateur is the most popular one for women from their line – smells like rose and sandalwood. I’m kind of out of the natural deodorant loop now, since I don’t wear deodorant until summer comes around. I like the baking soda free Meow Meow Tweet, but sometimes the packaging is tough.
I was helping my girlfriend pick out lamps for her home and she found this beautiful lamp from the West Elm Pierce & Ward collection. If you are into design, you may know who Pierce & Ward is. Their style is a blend of vintage and modern; right up my alley. If you are into that too, definitely check out their collection with West Elm. I didn’t realize a picture of an ottoman that I was eyeing and ripped out of my magazines was from their collection. I just love the pattern. Pillows, furniture, lamps, rugs, shower curtain, …they have lots of beautiful things.
We’ve lived in our condo 12 years this Fall I believe and we’ve only went through two sets of outdoor pillows for our balcony. It’s time. I’ve held out for too long since I didn’t want to spend the money incase we moved and the pillows wouldn’t go at our new place, but we are still in our condo. I need to live in the now and neither Mark nor I wants to look at the ratty looking, stained pillows. Ha. Anyhoo, I’ve been on a deep dive of an outdoor pillow search. Since we’ve had white and cream pillows for so long, I decided to change it up. In effort to keep it less costly, I’ve been looking on Amazon. I just got one set of the green covers in the mail and I think they are the winner. I might go with them and order 8 more as I need 10 pillows with pillow inserts for our sectional. If you are looking for neutral outdoor pillow covers, definitely take a look. They come in so many different colors and sizes. I wanted a large 24 x 24 size and they have it.
Magnesium acts as a gentle cleanser, calms the body and the adrenals, improves sleep, improves aches, cramps, sore muscles, supports the brain and nervous system. I alternate types and take every night right before bed. Magnesium Glycinate is the one I use the most. It contains a bit of ginger and turmeric as well. Glycinate is easily absorbed by the body and gentle on the stomach. code RIANES5 saves a little off of everything at VIMERGY, code RSCHNEIDER is just for the magnesium this month – depending on what you are ordering. If it’s your first time ordering from VIMERGY all together, use this link for 20% off your entire first purchase
The other magnesium’s I occasionally take:
- Magnesium Citrate – It’s known for moving out a bit more waste than glycinate. While still absorbed by the body, this type of magnesium generally moves through us a bit more. This is why I take Glycinate the majority of the time. I want the higher absorption for the bigger range of benefits.
- Magnesium Oxy-Powder – A super powerful cleanser. I use this before bed on nights I eat out/order in/not as healthy or just feel I need some extra cleansing. It’s not a replacement for those above, but rather one I rotate in.
This is such a good one and extra high in iron if you use both lentil noodles and lentils.
