Some cleaner Amazon holiday food gifts + treats. Just because we live healthier than we used to doesn’t mean we have to throw all of the fun goodies out the window. I hope to introduce you to some cleaner swaps and new treats. Not everything is squeaky clean (like organic cane sugar & brown rice syrup (both refined sugar), but rather much better swaps tied to those familiar memories. Also, here is to forming new memories + traditions!
Spread on toast, waffles, pancakes, baked goods, or use as frosting for sugar cookies.
One ingredient: melt in your mouth 100% pure maple syrup.
Oh how I loved cotton candy at the fair. While it’s not on a stick, it’s made with only 2 ingredients – organic cane sugar (refined sugar so really treat this as a treat) and organic maple sugar (a great unrefined sugar). A nice swap for the kiddos. I linked a single one as well as a four pack.
When I first saw this last year, I was ecstatic. One of the fancy hair salons I used to go to served coffee with a fun crystal sugar stick. I’m a big kid and that made me so dang happy! HA So if you need to fulfill a good memory like mine or just want a fun gift, peak at these.
For the caramel lover.
You/they won’t even miss the old chocolate covered almonds with these. Real ingredients take the cake.
Hu Dark Chocolate 3 Pack Holiday Winter Collection
Okay, so I’m not understanding the price of these on Amazon, but maybe it’s because it’s a holiday edition set? They do look pretty good though….I’m a chocolate lover. Either way if you want a clean chocolate bar for yourself or others, Hu’s are amazing. They come in all different flavors too. No refined sugar (it’s made with coconut sugar) or crap ingredients. I grab a single bar at Whole Foods for around $5/6 I think?
While they do contain refined sugar, they are the perfect swap for the rest out there that have artificial dyes, flavors, and high fructose corn syrup.
For the sprinkle cakes and cut out cookies. A much better swap to those with artificial coloring. A bunch of this brand has corn starch in it, but this one does not. Always read ingredients to make sure they make your cut. While I’m fine with having less than perfect ingredients once in awhile, you may not be.
I usually keep honey sticks in my purse along with a tea bag or two. Many times I just enjoy it straight from the stick; a mini snack with healthy glucose to keep me going when I’m running errands.
A cleaner jam brand and apricot sounds so good to me right now. St Dalfour also sells more flavors like wild blueberry and raspberry. One way I like to “make” jam for toast last minute – smash a few fresh raspberries and mix it with honey. It does the trick and is so delicious.
One ingredient – organic coconut. A sweet delicious spoonful of a treat; much sweeter than coconut oil. It’s hard and not spreadable unless you warm it up, but you can add it to baked goods, warm drinks, or eat it as is straight off the spoon for dessert (how I usually have it – I don’t warm it up either).
If you like dates, these taste so good.
Maxine’s Crispy Cinnamon Cookies
While pricey, it’s an option if you don’t want to make your own. A crispy one to dunk into those hot holiday drinks. Ingredients: Oat Flour, Organic Coconut Sugar, Coconut Oil, Organic Coconut Nectar, Flaxseed, Vanilla Extract, Baking Soda, Cinnamon, Sea Salt, Ginger, Allspice, Nutmeg, Cloves, Cardamom.
Gefen Whole Peeled and Roasted Organic Chestnuts
Eat straight from the bag or roast them in the oven to toast them. Roasted chestnuts by the fire?? You can also add them to stuffing, gravy, and creamy soups.
