Ingredients
Method
- Wash and cut the apples into small chunks, leaving the skins on.
- Add apples, 1/4 cup water, and spices to a medium sized pot over medium-high heat. Stir and bring to a good simmer. Now turn down the heat to medium. Cover with a tilted lid and simmer for 10-12 minutes, stirring here and there.
- Depending on desired consistency, cover completely for 2-3 more minutes, or remove the cover.
- They are so good as is, but you can also add to oatmeal, enjoy with granola and vanilla nice-cream for dessert, or however your heart desires.
Notes
*Apple Tidbit - Each type of apple will deliver a different flavor. I prefer a more mild apple to eat, but in juicing, smoothies, and these stewed apples, the sweet tartness of pink lady apples deliver a lot of flavor.
Just use what you have if you don't have all the spices.
