10 things. 8/1

10 things. 81

This week’s 10 things. 8/1:

  1. I’ve been going outside on the balcony first thing in the morning for 20-30 minutes more days than not. It’s felt like a nice change. Just peace and quiet and waking up with fresh air. Just a little reminder to change up your set routines every so often. Change feels good sometimes.
  2. When I finally turn on music in the morning, it’s usually the Nature & Music: Tropical Morning Album by David Arkenstone on Pandora lately. It’s just birds, ocean waves, and tropical sounding music. Mark switches it up for me sometimes and puts on Ocean Beach Waves on Spotify. Big change. Ha It’s my way to bring nature and calming waves to a city condo.
  3. If you want to smell like a chocolate bar like I do, peak at this raw cocoa butter. Just an FYI, it’s that hard brick-like consistency until you warm it up in your hands or on your body. I’m good with that, but I realize most are probably not. I still want to share incase though. I took a butter knife and really worked around the edges to get it out in one piece. I now just rub that whole thing on my body and get excited every time. Ha
  4. My mom asked me for a link to her rose deodorant (she’s the best and always supporting me – thanks mom!) and afterwards I stumbled upon Agent Nateur’s new scents. Like the Tarte Tropezienne. “Think golden pastry dusted with sugar, orange blossom, kissed by ripe raspberries and layered with smooth vanilla and coconut cream.” I had to get one. If you are not sensitive to baking soda, check out their deodorants.
  5. If you are sensitive to baking soda, my girlfriend just shared that her and her mom love the Little Seed Farm Rosemary Patchouli deodorant. Tis’ the season of more deodorant usage.
  6. Now that I’m thinking of my girlfriend, our rug search for her came to mind. If you are looking for nice rugs, but don’t want to spend a crazy amount, look at the brand Loloi on Amazon. I only linked one specific style, but take a look at the brand overall as they have so many different patterns and beautiful rugs.
  7. I’m using a new sweetener called monk fruit powder that you may already be familiar with. Monk fruit is a tropical fruit in which monk fruit powder is derived from. Since I’m not having any honey or maple syrup while I get my bout of Candida/yeast back in check, I wanted something sweet and without sugar to add to my teas and chia pudding sometimes. The first few times I didn’t like it as my taste-buds had to get used to it, but now I enjoy it. It makes such a difference having a little sweet cup of something in my day. The tiniest bit goes a long way. I don’t know if I’ll continue using it after or not, but I wanted to share incase you are looking for a sugar-free sweetener for any reason.
  8. I uploaded a lengthy 5000 word post on Candida and the best foods to eat with a Candida overgrowth. I tried to be as helpful as I can if you ever get an overgrowth. I had a super high overgrowth years ago, but I was dealing with a multitude of health symptoms at the same time. This time I don’t have anything else going on and it’s a low overgrowth. I feel great, have my energy, and have a clear mind this time (zero brain fog), so I’ve learned and taken away a lot this past month. I share in the post.
  9. Now that tomato season has started, grab your juiciest Roma or beefsteak tomatoes and make these Avocado Caprese Bites. Yum. I want one now.
  10. August happens to be my favorite month of summer. “Here’s to an August filled with magic, miracles, and the people who make your heart happy.” Motivation App I’m good with just the magic and people who make my heart happy, but I’ll gladly accept miracles too. I hope your August is filled with all. Xx
