Green Smoothie Of The Moment

You know I'm always switching up my green smoothies; this is the one I'm having now. It's an extra green one that I feel great starting the day with. The recipe is what I'm making to split with my husband, so I'm writing this as two servings, but of course as always adjust to your/your family's needs.

Servings: 2 large smoothies
Course: Breakfast, Snack

Ingredients
  

  • fill about 75 percent of the blender with mostly spinach and a small amount of kale if on hand curly kale or dino kale
  • 1/2 large bunch of celery
  • 10 fresh mint leaves a handful of parsley is a good substitute here too
  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 1 lemon skin removed
  • 1" ginger
  • 1 Medjool date
  • 1/2 tsp ceylon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup whole flaxseeds 4 TBSP each
  • 2 tsp spirulina powder
  • optional powders Barley Grass Juice Powder and Amla powder - Amla is better tasting in berry smoothies, but I still add it for the benefits sometimes
  • water to blend I fill it about 25% of the way as flaxseeds require more water. I'll sometimes add more yet after blending depending on the consistency. Use cold filtered water if you don't prefer a room temperature smoothie.

Method
 

  1. Add everything to the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy as it nourishes and hydrates your cells! I'm using a large 64 oz Vitamix Blender to make this.
