Maple Cinnamon Roasted Almonds

These maple cinnamon roasted almonds are a great addition to your holiday appetizer spreads. They also make a great homemade gift! Package them in a cute tin or jar with a little tag and you have an easy and delicious healthy treat to gift to others. The aroma while roasting them is warm, sweet and reminiscent of holiday baking. Just make sure to double the recipe if you have a large group as they will go fast!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Add 1 cup of almonds to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake them for 5 minutes at 350.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and carefully add the hot almonds to a mixing bowl.
  • Add and stir in the maple syrup until the almonds are well coated.
  • Sprinkle in the ground cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) and stir well again.
  • Pour the almonds back on the hot parchment lined baking sheet and spread them out.
  • Put the pan back in the oven for 12-14 minutes, STIRRING THEM HALFWAY.

Notes

Let them cool down slightly before eating one, but definitely try a warm maple cinnamon roasted almond. You might not want to share!
