Medical Medium’s Liver Rescue Smoothie is a liver healing smoothie. When we heal our liver, we are healing the gut too, as our gut starts with our liver. It’s a win win. This smoothie is super easy to throw together with just a few ingredients. The dragon fruit powder in this smoothie is filled with antioxidants and is the “fountain of youth” for our liver as it helps regenerate our liver’s cells. It also gives the smoothie it’s magenta hue. The wild blueberries in this smoothie help detoxify heavy metals in our body and can help with disease.
Not only do wild blueberries have the ability to grab on to plenty of troublemakers, they also hold on to them as they leave the liver, in a way that most other healing foods cannot. The pigments in wild blueberries have the ability to saturate deep into liver cells and cross cell walls and membranes inside the liver, spreading their blue everywhere. Wild blueberries enhance the intestinal tract, feeding good bacteria there, which benefits the liver greatly.
MEDICAL MEDIUM
Ingredients for Medical Medium’s Liver Rescue Smoothie
Serves 1
- 2 bananas
- 2 cups of frozen wild blueberries
- 1/2 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of powdered dragon fruit
Instructions
Throw the above ingredients in a high speed blender. If you have a vitamix, use the tamper to help blend it along. If you don’t have a high speed blender and need more liquid for blending, add a touch more water, coconut water, or even fresh squeezed orange juice.
Riane’s Tidbits
- The wild blueberries and dragon fruit powder are the main liver cleansing ingredients. You can always throw these two ingredients in any smoothie mix of your choice.
- Medical Medium has more versions of a liver rescue smoothie. The one above is the easiest and least amount of ingredients. If you want different options though, here they are:

I hope you enjoy this smoothie! It’s my lunch every day while I’m doing the advanced 369 cleanse found in the Cleanse to Heal book by Medical Medium so I figured I would share it with you!
