Does juicing in a blender with water give us the same healing and cleansing benefits as juicing in a cold-press, masticating juicer? Not at all. We get an ultra nutrient dense, super cleansing, healing juice with the right juicer and without the water. I think of it as a medicinal drink in the juicer. But to bridge you over until you get a juicer, you can still reap some benefits from juicing with a blender and start forming healthier habits.
I personally made celery juice with a blender and nut milk bag for a few weeks before I bought my first juicer to fully reap the benefits. Once I knew I was committed, I bought a juicer. The milk bag didn’t go to waste either; I still use it to make almond milk.
When you are ready to buy a juicer, I think the best overall juicer is the Nama J2. Code RIANE55 saves $55 off. I am an affiliate of theirs, but I researched and purchased the juicer a year prior to becoming an affiliate. It’s truly gotten me to juice more than ever and has improved my health and energy. I now drink a wider rainbow of nutrients and have very little waste in the kitchen. Any produce that is about to go bad gets juiced!
How To Make Juice In A Blender
What you Need:
- A Blender – A high speed one is ideal, but you can make it work with most blenders.
- A Nut Milk Bag OR in a pinch a fine mesh strainer
- I like to strain it into a Pyrex for easy pouring.
How To (Video Below):
- Cut the produce into small pieces. Small pieces make it easier to blend with less filtered water. The less water you use, the better.
- Add the produce to a high speed blender along with a small amount of water. Just enough water to get your blender to blend the produce really well.
- Blend until well combined
- Pour blender contents into a milk bag that is inside a Pyrex and slowly squeeze out your juice. Alternatively, in a pinch you can also pour contents over a fine mesh strainer using a wooden spatula to press down the pulp. ENJOY!
