Cravings: Salty or Sweet

October 5, 2022

What do Cravings Mean?

What Cravings Mean? Cravings Salty or Sweet

Cravings: Salty or Sweet

I rarely get cravings anymore since I eat an abundance of both glucose & mineral salts, but when a craving ever arises, I love knowing exactly what my body needs!

Before eating as much fruit as I do today, I would get strong sweet cravings. And as healthy as I ate I LOVED donuts (vanilla or chocolate with sprinkles 😉). Now I am aware that my body was calling out for glucose each & every time I would get these strong donut cravings. Instead of giving it glucose from sugars that fueled and benefited my body, I fed it too much refined inflammatory sugar that did more harm than good.

Thankfully I’ve since learned the above information in the chart and now I get plenty of glucose from fruit, potatoes, squashes, coconut water, dates, honey, and maple syrup. I still have donuts on occasion too. My favorite donut today is the Medical Medium cinnamon donut.

What else causes cravings?

With all of this said, I want to mention that there is another type of craving. Emotional cravings. We may eat a great amount of both glucose and mineral salts, but there are still those times we are going to emotionally eat due to being stressed, anxious, sad, lonely, whatever the emotion may be. Don’t be too hard on yourself during these times. 🖤 I 100% give into emotional cravings without being hard on myself, having regret or anything like that. I think it is so important to have a good relationship with food. I just know that emotional cravings pass and they are not my norm.

Hopefully being aware of this all makes you feel more empowered to know the WHY behind our cravings.

I am so grateful you are here joining me!
