Benefits of Rebounding
Rebounding is not only a great form of exercise, but also great for the lymphatic system. Even though toning the body and losing excess weight are amazing results from rebounding, I think it is the results that we don’t visually see that have the biggest impact on us.
I bought myself a rebounder a little over a year ago and it has since become a part of my workout routine. It gets my heart rate up, my blood flowing and moving, and is just a great overall exercise. It took me a bit to make it a routine thing as most things do, but I have since learned to love it! As powerful of a workout as it is, it is so gentle on the knees and joints. Thankfully it also feels more like a happy energetic boost than a dreadful workout!
What Is Rebounding?
An exercise done by bouncing or jumping on a mini trampoline called a rebounder. It is a low-no impact exercise for the joints that is great for stimulating the lymphatic system, improving cardiovascular health, toning the body, reducing stress, weight loss, and so much more.
You can bounce or jump as slow or as fast as you wish. You can keep both feet planted with heels on the mat or jump around with different moves. Do what feels good to you.
Does Rebounding Tone Your Body?
Rebounding helps with weight loss and toning the entire body, especially the legs and thighs.
How Many Minutes A Day Should You Rebound?
Studies and experts say we should rebound 20 minutes or even more at least 3 times a week. However, I have found that even my 11 minutes a day about 4 times a week has been very beneficial. I say do what you have time for and will stick with. Consistency is key!
Should You Wear Shoes On A Rebounder?
Depending on who you hear or read from, the answer will be different. The biggest importance and key factor is that you do not want to slip. Whether it is shoes, non-slip socks, or bare feet, do what feels best to you as long as you are not slipping. I prefer bare feet and my husband prefers socks.
Benefits Of Rebounding
- Stimulates the lymphatic system. It does so by moving around the fluids in the body which aids in the drainage of toxins. This detoxification of the entire body is the #1 reason many rebound.
- Improves cardiovascular health.
- Tones the entire body, but especially the legs and thighs. Toning muscles also tightens the skin.
- Reduces body fat and helps with weight loss.
- Calms and strengthens the nervous system.
- Improves digestion, especially when twisting the core. (shown in video below)
- Boosts energy.
- Reduces stress and anxiety.
- Increases core strength while improving balance.
- Improves coordination.
- Improves posture.
- It is shown to be beneficial for children with learning disabilities.
- It is a no to low impact exercise for the knees and joints.
- The smallish footprint of a rebounder is great for small spaces.
- Promotes exercise even during the cold, rainy, winter, or sedentary times.
- It shows we do not need a super intense workout to receive benefits. Bounce, jump, dance, jog…whatever way feels good for you to move. It is ALL beneficial.
- When you jump on it first thing in the morning, it helps wake you up and give an energetic boost to start the day!
Rebounding is one of the most powerful and effective exercises that one can do for their health and physical strength. Rebounding is a safe, no-impact exercise that burns more calories and provides more benefits than jogging, biking, or weight training. ………..It oxygenates the entire body which kills off the viruses and bacteria that can lead to illness and disease.
Medical Medium
I’m sure I didn’t even hit them all, but you can see that the benefits of rebounding are endless!
You can shop my exact rebounder here. It also folds in half and includes a carrying case for storage. It is good for up to 330 lbs. While pricey, I have not regretted it from day one. There is a BIG difference in quality between the pricier ones and inexpensive ones.
